Stacy's Story

Stacy Pare, 57, is a mother and grandmother who currently resides in Michigan with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. Stacy has been struggling with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a genetic disease that eventually leads to kidney failure since she was a young child, and is now in need of a kidney transplant. Over the past two and a half years, Stacy has been attending dialysis 3 times a week to help filter out the toxins that her body can't filter out naturally. Treatment has been difficult for Stacy both mentally and physically. Most days consist of nausea and vomiting as well as the inability to eat or drink. She is unable to travel far from home since she relies on dialysis to live.
